This is the second story in the trilogy set in southern Ontario during a global economic collapse, previously published in a single volume as '|After the Last Day', still available in its original form as an EBook. Those who have read the original version of After the Last Day will not find any significant changes in the story.
In the three years after fleeing for their lives, several families joined the struggle of the free territory of Huron.
After subduing local gangsters, they were confronted with the threat of extinction by fascists attempting to conquer Ontario. This threat culminated in a great battle when the existence of Huron hung in the balance, only to be decided by unexpected forces that left a lingering shadow over everyone.

Don Hayward was born in Sudbury Ontario in 1946. He grew up at a hydro-electric generating site on the Spanish River, surrounded by the natural world of the Canadian Shield hard rock country. This is the location for Echo of the Whip-poor-Will. Don resides in Goderich Ontario
