Born in Pieve di Soligo (Treviso) in 1921, Andrea Zanzotto is the author of five books of poetry, a number of critical essays, and a book of prose. His work has been described as innovative, intellectual, and elegant. The distinguished translators of this volume, Ruth Feldman and Brian Swann, have selected poems from Zanzotto's published work, providing English translations that appear on pages facing the Italian text.
