Biografische Anmerkung

Skillfully weaving his own narrative with direct quotes from Abraham Lincoln and poignant excerpts from other Lincoln biographers, Joe Wheeler brings a refreshingly friendly rendition of the life, faith and courage of the most revered leader in American history.

Joe Wheeler is a professional anthologist and a historian of ideas. Over the span of seventeen years, he has compiled and edited sixty-four books, forty-eight of them being story anthologies. Some of the best known are Christmas in My Heart, Heart to Heart, Great Stories Remembered, and The Good Lord Made Them All series. Wheeler earned a master's in history from Pacific Union College, a master's in English from Sacramento State University, and a PhD in English (history of ideas emphasis) from Vanderbilt University. In his thirty-four-year teaching career, he taught English on junior high, senior high, junior college, and college levels, and chaired college English and communication departments in three states. Wheeler is considered the world's foremost authority on the life and times of Zane Grey, and he cofounded the international Zane Grey's West Society and continues as its executive director. Now, after a lifetime of collecting Lincoln stories, poems, and sayings, he has written Abraham Lincoln: A Man of Faith and Courage.
