This handbook is the first treatment of the theoretical aspects of ad hoc wireless networks. The material is derived mainly from papers in an NSF-sponsored workshop on the Theoretical and Algorithmic Aspects of Sensor, Ad Hoc Wireless, and Peer-to-Peer Networks, whose main topics revolve around two questions: What are the central technical issues in SAP networks? What are the possible solutions/tools available to address these issues? With several chapters written by authorities from Motorola, Bell Lab, and Honeywell, the book collects the recent developments in the theoretical and algorithmic aspects of three related fields and focuses on future research challenges.
