Correcting a twenty-first century shift away from explicitly feminist investigations in Jewish queer and LBGTQ studies, this work signals a new trend of scholarly works in the field. It spans an array of genres, presenting the rich diversity of Jewish lesbians and Jewish lesbian scholarship today.

Marla Brettschneider is prolific and award-winning author and Professor of Political Theory with a joint appointment in Women's and Genders Studies and Political Science at the University of New Hampshire, USA where she has chaired both of her departments and founded Queer Studies, Social Justice Leadership Studies, and a graduate program in Feminist Studies.
