Nigel Hess's bustling 6-minute work, A Christmas Overture, is an exciting new addition to the Christmas repertoire and a must for opening any seasonal concert. Originally commissioned for orchestra by John Rutter, this medley of Christmas classics is now a regular feature on concerts by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the City of London Sinfonia. The composer has arranged this work for concert band and is of medium level.
