"I have always been inspired by people that are willing
to make a stand for what they believe in . on
November 9, 1995, the doctors at the Hospital for
Sick Children, Toronto, CANADA, told me that my
daughter's bone marrow had stopped producing
blood. She would need on-going transfusions to stay
alive. I am a Jehovah's Witness and accept the
command in the Bible that prohibits the use of blood.
My Search for a Clean Bill of Health starts in Canada,
takes me into the United States, then on to Europe
and most recently now to the Middle East.
I have come to understand through my experience
that courage is in fact the conquest of fear, not the
absence of fear."
