To try and summarize the story of Caroline is an injustice to the story itself. To speak only about the injustices done to her by the British tabloids would be to sink to their level of sensationalism. There is more to this story than Caroline, wedding of the year, or Caroline fairy-tale princess, or Caroline the bigamy queen. The story of her life was marginalized and falsified the moment she set foot in Britain. The press cut her up like a paper doll, manipulating her past and her present situation for their own gain and the amusement of the public. The purpose of this book is to give Caroline her story back, to give a true account of her experience in London and show the public that the life of Caroline is far more complex than, Caroline, the tabloid queen.
