Biografische Anmerkung

Once Upon a Time Today is a collection of modern fairy tale retellings for those who have already left home.

After her drug-addicted mother dies, Miriam is placed in a convent by social services. For awhile, the sheltered existence is her haven. However, the day she comes across an employment ad for a caretaker in a local paper, the safety of her sanctuary begins to stifle.

Like Miriam, Gertrude was an orphan. Now she's the sea witch. A long time ago, she saved the mer kingdom from extinction. As payment, she demanded the service of the mer king's second son-and every second son thereafter.

Cole is the third second son to serve the sea witch. He would do anything to return to the sea.

Dreaming of the Sea is a retelling of Han's Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid."

The Girl Who Believed in Fairy Tales is a prelude to the Once Upon a Time Today collection and includes the three short stories:

"The Girl Who Watched for Elves"
"The Girl Who Dreamed of Red Shoes"
> Novellas in the Once Upon a Time Today collection:

Beautiful Beautiful
Dreaming of the Sea
The Tree Hugger
I Am Lily Dane

Heidi Garrett is the author of the contemporary fairy tale novella collection, Once Upon a Time Today. In these stand-alone retellings of popular and obscure fairy tales, adult characters navigate the deep woods of the modern landscape to find their Happily Ever Afters.

She's also the author of the Daughter of Light series, a fantasy about a young half-faerie, half-mortal searching for her place in the Whole. Heidi has collaborated with B. J. Limpin on a yummy paranormal romance, > Signup for Heidi's newsletter at: http: //eepurl.com/wWKUj for discounts on all new releases!
