Biografische Anmerkung

When is it time to stop driving? Are you dreading "the talk" with your parents or grandparents regarding their safety and the safety of others on the roads? Then this book is for you! Did you know that by 2025, drivers 65 and older will represent 25% of the driving population? A 10% increase since 2001! Scientific studies show that physical and cognitive degeneration at older ages compromises driving abilities. Dr. Bernstein delves into the topic of senior driving dilemmas with real life patient experiences...written as an informational guide to families to understand the complexities of senior driving, and unravel the nuances of the problems that might be faced as they cautiously transition their loved one from behind the wheel providing lifesaving strategies.

David Bernstein, MD is a highly respected physician who is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Geriatrics practicing in Clearwater, Florida. His 30+ years of experience have provided him with opportunities to observe and empathize with thousands of adults as they age. His compassion and ability to see the souls of his patients has compelled him to share his stories in his previously published book "I've Got Some Good News and Some Bad News: YOU'RE OLD Tales of a Geriatrician..." Dr. Bernstein was motivated to share his thoughts about senior drivers after years of interacting with patients and their families. He is a graduate of Washington University in St Louis and Albany Medical College. He is an associate clinical professor in the department of medicine at the University of South Florida College Of Medicine. Dr. Bernstein is an avid public speaker, addressing various medical topics with his colleagues and with the community at large with a focus on families facing the complex problems as they near the end of life. In 2015, Dr. Bernstein was selected by his peers as the #1 Geriatrician in the Tampa Bay Area.
