Biografische Anmerkung

During a classroom discussion about touch, Frederick repeats something he hears his parents say, "If everyone received the power of touch, the world would be a much better place!" These words spark a turn of events that show how something bad can also be good. Good Touch Day weaves a story of safe touch and massage therapy. It is a resource for teaching all ages the value of good touch and the power of using healing hands to make a difference in the world. There is currently no other book on the market that introduces children to a health career in massage therapy.

Sandra Roberts holds a Bachelor of Arts from Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri and a Massage Certificate from the Healing Arts Center in St. Louis, Missouri. With teaching certifications in both Communication Arts and School Library Media, she taught high school English and provided elementary and high school library services. She is also the author of Come With Me to the Place to Be. She currently works as a licensed massage therapist and in-school healthy touch advocate. She is also on a mission to remove the stigma of massage through her good touch school program: Hands for the Health of It. She lives in Saint Louis, Missouri, where she enjoys spas, pampering, brunches, smoothies, roller-skating, movies, libraries and music.
