After war, sickness and a lifetime of being unwanted, Nelia is determined to see the King. Born outside the bounds of societal norms, always pushed aside and labeled the dunce, trash and no good, Nelia is fed up with it all. Her ability to see people's true emotions and thoughts as colors in the air around them must mean something. It can't be that her life was simply a string of unfortunate events culminating in the worst one a mother can endure. The strange and dangerous trip to see the King who some fear and some don't believe exists is all worth it to her to find a purpose.
