This book focusses on the #MeToo movement in China, critically examining how three competing ideologies have worked in co-opting #MeToo activism: China's official communism, Western neoliberalism, and an emerging Chinese cyber-feminism.

Li Ma holds a PhD from Cornell University. A research fellow affiliated with Sage Creative Foundation, she is the author of seven books, including most recently Christian Women and Modern China and Babel Church: The Subversion of Christianity in an Age of Mass Media, Globalization and #MeToo.
