This new text is a guide for understanding, envisioning, and acting on the lessons of English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) research in English Language Teaching (ELT) classrooms. The volume is the result of the cooperation of an international team which includes members involved in research, teacher education, and classroom practice.



Éva Illés (PhD, University of London) is Associate Professor of English Applied Linguistics at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary. She has published articles and book chapters on pragmatics, ELT, and teacher education. She is author of Understanding Context in Language Use and Teaching: An ELF Perspective (2020).

Yasemin Bayyurt (PhD, Lancaster University) is Professor of Applied Linguistics at Bogaziçi University, Istanbul, Turkey. She has published extensively on ELF- aware in- and pre-service teacher education, CLIL, and English medium instruction. She is the co-editor of Current Perspectives on Pedagogy for ELF (2015) and the editor of Bloomsbury World Englishes, Vol. 3: Pedagogies (2021).
