Rosie Walker was born in the shadow of the Alamo (on Cinco de Mayo) and grew up on the edges of the Spindletop Oil Field. She earned a journalism degree from the University of Houston while working night shifts at newspapers.
She has worked as an editor, feature writer, advertising representative, technical writer, ghost writer, trainer, collections agent and bookkeeper. Those roles often overlapped.
As grassroots volunteer (usually), consultant (occasionally), and candidate (twice), she has worked in more political campaigns than she can count.
Rose and her husband Mac live in Houston, Texas.
Highlights of Rosie's career:
• Worked for seven daily newspapers
• Magazine editor and publisher (B.A. in Communications)
• Publishing books
• Writing advertising copy (thousands of advertising accounts in more than 15 years in the publishing business)
• Technical communication (developed collection of Procedures for Harris County Tax Office)
• Community and civic work, including fund-raising letters and invitations
• Corporate communications (employee newsletters)
• "strategic" and political (10 essays published in daily newspaper)

The wealthy excitement seekers booked the nights in the decrepit old house on the river bank. They arrived with champagne and plans to be ghost busters. The locals watched the visitors leave, shaken and bewildered. What happens in this Louisiana parish stays in the parish.
