This book covers recent advancements in understanding and treating neurodegenerative diseases. It reviews current strategies, introduces potential novel targets, and explores the roles of ethnomedicines, microglia, and neuropharmacological mechanisms. This book is for neuroscientists, neurologists, and students of neuroscience.

Dr. Vaishali Manikaro Patil presently holds the position of Professor (Associate) and Head at Charak School of Pharmacy, Chaudhary Charan Singh University in Meerut, India, and also serves as a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, UCSI University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With over 16 years of academic and 3 years of industrial experience, her primary research lies in Medicinal Chemistry and Computer-Aided Drug Design, focusing on quantitative structure-activity relationship studies, drug-receptor interactions, and the synthesis of small heterocyclic molecules. Dr. Patil, a recipient of prestigious awards, has authored numerous research papers, books, and book chapters, contributing globally through lectures and participation in scientific communities like the American Chemical Society and APTI-India.

Dr. Dileep Kumar, holding degrees from Manipal University and S.G.S.I.T.S Indore, served as an Assistant Professor at Poona College of Pharmacy and currently holds a visiting faculty position at the University of California, Davis. With research interests in the design of GluN2B selective NMDA receptors antagonists and Amyloid-ß protein aggregation inhibitors for Alzheimer's disease treatment, Dr. Kumar actively contributes to cancer research at UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Neeraj Masand, an Assistant Professor at Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College in Meerut, holds degrees from North Maharashtra University and Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. With over 16 years of academic and research experience, his current research focuses on designing gamma-secretase inhibitors for Alzheimer's disease treatment and synthesizing novel heterocyclic analogues.
