Gillian Evans is Lecturer in Social Anthropology at the University of Manchester, UK. Her research focuses on processes of change in the post-industrial cities of Britain. Her previous book, Educational Failure and Working Class White Children in Britain, explores the question of what it means to be working class in 21^st century Britain.

The author had unprecedented access to the legacy organisations, institutions, and individuals involved with the 2012 Games.
