Biografische Anmerkung

What kind of trouble or danger would cause you to run away from your home? A crime? Abuse? A terrifying future?
Hagar ran away from physical abuse.
Jacob came from a family where Mama favored him and Dad favored his brother. When Jacob tricked his brother out of his rightful inheritance, his brother decided to put an end to Jacob. With Mama's help, Jacob ran to another country to live with his uncle.
Moses ran away after committing murder.
Elijah ran for his life and finally hid in a cave when an evil queen determined to call out her soldiers, track him down, and kill him.
Jonah, a prophet, ran away because he didn't like the assignment God gave him.
Onesimus was a runaway slave.
What happened to these people as the result of their choices to run away? Would you have made the same choices?

I like to write, read, teach, sing, play the piano, swim, cook, play in the yard, and walk by the ocean. I prefer coloring books to plain paper, summer to winter, daytime to nightime, and morning to afternoon. I like large families, but I prefer to visit with one friend at a time. I love to study the Bible and discuss what God is doing in the world today, but I can't handle really scary adventure novels. I am more interested in people and animals than in rocks and plants.
I tutor reading and writing and prefer second graders. I live with my husband Bill and cat Sasha in the center of California.
