Biografische Anmerkung

Architecture and Design in Europe and America, 1750-2000 is an unprecedented teaching anthology that surveys the history of European and American architecture and design using both historical and contemporary sources. This ambitious volume brings together the best scholarship on the subject - as it has been taught, thought, and talked about in academic and architectural circles - yet it also reconfigures the canon for teaching purposes by introducing a thematic approach.

The book covers three major periods - 1750-1830, 1830-1910, and 1910-2000 - with substantial introductions to each section by the editors. Pairing primary documents with well-known historiographical essays, along with some key but underrepresented works, this book will be especially welcomed by those studying architectural history at the undergraduate level.
