Providing up-to-date information on ultrasound technology and sonochemistry, this volume focuses on green chemistry principles and methodologies that are being devised with a view toward protecting the environment. The book addresses key topics in materials science, medical applications, nanotechnology, metallurgy, food science, wastewater treatment, anaerobic digestion, pollutants degradation, polymers, reactor design, synthetic organic chemistry, and combined ultrasound-microwave technologies. Future perspectives on the emerging fields of green chemistry and ultrasound are linked to environmental accountability and sustainability.

Dr. Dong Chen has been doing fundamental research in sonochemistry, environmental chemistry, and water and wastewater treatment technologies. States. He serves as a principal and coprincipal investigator of several funded scientific research projects. Before this position, he worked as a visiting assistant professor at Lamar University, Texas. Even earlier, Dr. Chen was an instructor and a postdoctoral fellow at the University of New Mexico and worked on a couple of research projects sponsored by national laboratories. He received his PhD in civil (environmental) engineering with a minor in geological science from The Ohio State University, Columbus, in 2005. In addition, he received his master's and bachelor's degree in environmental engineering from Nanyang Technological University and Tongji University, respectively. Besides his research experience, Dr. Chen had been working as a full-time engineering consultant for more than two years. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Ohio.

Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay K. Sharma is serving as a professor in the Department of Chemistry in IET and is teaching engineering chemistry and environmental engineering courses to BTech students, and biochemistry and environmental science to postgraduate students. Dr. Sharma has delivered many guest lectures on different topics of applied chemistry in various reputed institutions. researcher. He is also serving as editor in chief for three international research journals, RASAYAN Journal of Chemistry; the International Journal of Chemical, Environmental and Pharmaceutical Research; and the International Journal of Water Treatment and Green Chemistry, and is a reviewer for many other international journals, including the prestigious Green Chemistry Letters and Reviews. He has also recently published an edited book Green Chemistry for Environmental Sustainability on susta
