Biografische Anmerkung

A Leader's Guide to The Courage to Be Yourself

Al Desetta, M.A., was an editor at Youth Communication, a New York based nonprofit organization that teaches writing, journalism, and leadership skills to inner-city teens, from 1985 until 2002.

He is currently a freelance editor.

Sherrie Gammage, Ed.D., senior program associate with Educators for Social Responsibility, was the site coordinator for the Resolving Conflict Creatively Program in New Orleans for six years.

As an educator committed to anti-bias education, she works with local, regional, and national groups to create inclusive, just, and respectful learning environments in schools and community organizations. In 1999, as an ESR consultant, she facilitated a series of workshops in Tel Aviv, Israel, to teach conflict resolution to Israeli, Palestinian, and Arab educators and students. Sherrie is a member of the adjunct faculty at the Lesley University Graduate School of Education, in both the Peaceable Schools and Literacy in Education programs.

A former foster parent, she currently lives in New Orleans.
