Daniel Robinson's first career was fighting wildfires, and the experiences from those fourteen years serve as the basis for his first novel, After the Fire. He won the Clay Reynolds Novella Prize for his Depression-era noir, The Shadow of Violence. His third novel is Death of a Century (Arcade, June 2015). He has a PhD from the writing program at the University of Denver and has published numerous articles about Hemingway and the post-WWI Lost Generation. He lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he teaches American literature and runs a small historical collectibles business.

Greenwich, Connecticut, 1922. Newspaper man Joe Henry finds himself the primary suspect when his friend, fellow reporter Wynton Gresham, is murdered. Both were veterans of French battles during WWI-the war that was supposed to end all wars.

To clear his name he must find the man responsible for his friend's murder, while evading his own, and discover the deadly secret revealed in the lost manuscript. In the process, with the help of other broken veteran expats of Hemingway's Lost Generation living in Paris, he finds hope in a world irrevocably altered by war.
