Biografische Anmerkung

This collection from the Let's Read Together series contains 10 paperback picture books that promote social and emotional growth. Young readers will learn to recognize and understand their feelings and the feelings of others through stories that introduce gentle lessons.
The stories in this unique collection of ten paperback picture books promote social and emotional learning by helping young children to understand their feelings as well as the feelings of others. Through gentle, accessible lessons, the characters in these books learn how to handle a variety of situations, such as accepting a new friend; finding ways to deal with strong emotions like worry and anger; and realizing that true happiness comes not from material possessions but from interpersonal relationships with family and friends.
Let's Read Together is an ideal series to share special reading time with a child while introducing important gentle lessons. The series explores a variety of topics, including friendship, acceptance, teamwork, and empathy, all the while encouraging the development of language and reading skills.

  • A.H. Benjamin has been writing children's books since the mid-1980's. He lives in Lincolnshire, UK with his family who have all been an inspiration to him.
  • Jeanne Willis is the author of more than 80 books and lives in London, England, with her husband and two children.
  • Jonny Lambert grew up in Surrey, England, and always knew he wanted to be an artist. Encouraged by his art instructor at the Reigate School of Art and Design, Jonny is now a talented illustrator with more than 300 titles to his name, including designer and paper engineer.
  • Tracey Corderoy lives near Gloucester in the Cotswolds with her family and a host of lively pets. Once an elementary school teacher, Tracey is now an award-winning writer.
  • Jane Chapman has been writing and illustrating for over twenty years and has produced many bestselling and award-winning titles.
  • Ruth Galloway studied art in school but is essentially self-taught.  She knew she was going to be an artist from the age of eight and is now a successful illustrator of a number of picture books.
  • Caroline Crowe spent 10 years as a national newspaper journalist in London, England, before swapping fact for fiction. She now spends her time indulging her love of silliness and writing picture books.
  • Linda Jennings has enjoyed writing since she was a child, but when she moved to London in the 1960's she started writing seriously - mostly about animals - from bears to cats, and anything furry on four legs!
  • Stella J. Jones lives in Yorkshire, England. She loves baked beans and chocolate (but not together) and building ramshackle bookcases for her far-too-big collection of picture books.
  • When not immersed in children's books, Suzanne Chiew loves painting, playing the piano, and long walks on the beach.
