Biografische Anmerkung

"Gamers" takes the reader inside the secret Chinese Military Cyber-Division as they contemplate infiltrating a Top-Secret U.S. nuclear missile complex on Kadena AFB on Okinawa Island, Japan, where General Blair, Launch Officer Owens and Technician Buehler try to prevent a nuclear missile launch. Watch Chinese Colonel Fangqi uncover a plausible vulnerability for the last ICBM of its type. For political and logistical reasons, the nuclear missile was left undisturbed yet functional.
Get acquainted with the newest cast of characters, Agency handler Susan Betts, Agents Burt Barnow and Janet Carmickle, Senior Computer Specialist Joe Erbes, as well as the National Agency Director Allwardt, and the Chicago and Dallas Agency Directors Wes Fleming and Jon Moore. As things spiral out of control, China's theoretical exercise becomes something else setting the global superpowers on a collision course that could spark the next war.
Get reacquainted with South Korean Agency Team lead by Director Valdez, and her team X.O. Newland, Moon Dog, Kyle, Gibby, Carla Jo and Mr. Davies. However, in the end, secret agents Icarus and Cornelius Van Aelst (aka The Lone Wolf) may provide the information to avoid disaster and exact retribution.
"Gamers" is another historical fiction novel, while delivering the unexpected twists and turns that Padilla's fans have come to expect.

Padilla was raised in Red Bluff, California, and briefly lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, & Orange Counties. During his youth, many of his summers were spent in Ketchikan, Alaska.
His experience as an insurance claims adjustor, traveling throughout the US for disaster duty combined with handling improbable injuries took him into court rooms, requiring a deep understanding about the legal process. It's no surprise that his reading influences were early Stephen King, Tom Clancy, and John Grisham.
Padilla's previous works include "Rule One Twenty", "Michaso (the Korean word for crazy)" and "Tunnels" (2018 American Book Fest finalist Thriller: General category). The sequel to Rule One Twenty is titled "Sentinel Event" (2019 American Fiction Book award finalist Thriller General category). He also wrote "Gamers" and "Harpazo." Padilla is currently working on his seventh book "G-3: The Journey".
