Biografische Anmerkung

Joanasie loves to live in Kinngait, Nunavut. His community may be small, but it is never boring! Joanasie rides his bike in the summer and has snowball fights under the northern lights in the winter. And don't forget about Kinngait Studios, home of the talented artists that make Kinngait the "Capital of Inuit Art." Join Joanasie as he explains why Kinngait is a great place to live in this bilingual picture book.

Maika Harper is a Canadian actress and model born and raised in the Arctic. She briefly studied classical theatre in the BFA program at the University of Windsor before starring in APTN's hit dramatic comedy Mohawk Girls as Anna. She has also made appearances in Kim's Convenience as Michaela, and most recently on Burden of Truth as Doreen. Her theatrical debut was as an alternate in Treasure Island at the 2017 Stratford Festival and her film debut was The Education of Fredrick Fritzell which was released 2020. In her spare time, she advocates for mental health awareness and mentors youth in Canada with Youth Fusion.

Lenny Lishchenko is not a boy. She is an illustrator, graphic designer, and comic maker, who will never give up the chance to draw a good birch tree. Ukrainian born and Canadian raised, she's interested in telling stories that people remember years later, in the early mornings where everything is quiet and still. She's worked with clients such as Lenny Letter, Power Athletics Ltd. Alberta Venture, and Rubicon Publishing, and is based out of Mississauga, Ontario.
