Lucy Rowland (Author)
Lucy Rowland grew up in Cheltenham but currently lives in London, where she works as a Children's Speech and Language Therapist. With a real passion for language and lots of experience working with young children, Lucy was thrilled when she finally made the leap into picture book writing. When she's not daydreaming about story ideas, reading A. A. Milne or thinking up fun new rhymes, Lucy enjoys backpacking, baking and long walks on the beach. She is rather scared of spiders (and spider-related tricks!) but has now (bravely) done the highest bungee jump in the world!
Paula Bowles (Illustrator)
Paula grew up in Hertfordshire with a house full of animals. She has always loved drawing, reading and playing in her imagination, so she studied illustration at Falmouth College of Arts and became an illustrator. She now lives in Bristol, where she has worked as an illustrator for over 10 years. Paula used to work in a preschool, where she got to run around pretending to be a crocodile, went on Bear Hunts and made play-dough cakes, which was awfully good fun, but she is now very excited to be working on books with Nosy Crow and Simon & Schuster.
As well as drawing, Paula likes getting out of the city for long walks and cycle trips in the fresh air (she once cycled from Bristol to Paris!), snuggled indoors with a good book, discovering new music, and dancing the Lindy hop. Oh, and she also once learned to walk the tightrope!
