Designed for the battlefields of Europe at the height of the Cold War, the M60 and T-62 were the premier combat tanks of their day. However, it was in the deserts of the Middle East that they finally met in battle. This new Duel title examines the design and development of these main battle tanks, identifying their strengths and weaknesses, and describing and analyzing their performance on the battlefield during the Yom Kippur War, the Iran-Iraq War, and the first Gulf War.

Lon Nordeen worked for more than 40 years in aerospace at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and then as a manager of marketing communications and business development for a wide range of McDonnell Douglas/Boeing products (including the Harpoon/SLAM ER missile) and as a technical writer in defence, aviation and military technology. He has a long-term interest in aerospace, defence technology and military history. He is the author/co-author of more than 12 published books on these subjects, including four for Osprey.
