Biografische Anmerkung

The Polar Bear and the Dragon: Perilous Passage is the third book in Debbie Watson's fantasy series for middle-grade and young-adult readers. Thirteen-year-old Whitney and her best friend Edward, 14, have become vital members of Yagdi's elite Alliance formed to protect and defend the small world from an enemy's hostile takeover. The Alliance's powerful group has defeated Sylern and ended the war, but the creature fled before capture and remains well hidden. Although some fear his return, most Yagdians welcome the fragile peace.
The Alliance is anticipating a joyful homecoming when an eruption destroys their portal and launches Whitney and Edward into a confusing maze of tunnels. Lost somewhere between Earth and Yagdi, the teenagers discover their abilities have mysteriously vanished just as a young wizard named Patrick appears out of nowhere. Suspicious this intruder is to blame, they listen to his dire warning of an ancient wizard clan living in the shadows but aren't eager to accept his offer to help them escape. They sense Patrick has devious motives, but confronting wizards without their powers seems far more dangerous. Hoping they're not making a grave mistake, Whitney and Edward risk trusting the promises of what may be a scheming trickster.

Debbie Watson lives in Northern Michigan with her best friend and husband Dave and their two dogs, Parker and Buddy. As often as possible, they drive across the Mackinac Bridge, or "Mighty Mac," to camp and look for agates along the shores of Lake Superior. The rugged beauty and solitary spaces of that largest of all the Great Lakes is the inspiration for the setting of her book, The Polar Bear and The Dragon.
Always an avid reader, becoming an author has felt like a natural progression for Debbie. Her favorite authors cleverly draw her in and hold her captive from beginning to end. They thrill her with brilliant schemes and memorable characters who learn valuable life lessons. They charm her imagination. Debbie now hopes to create one of those memorable stories for her readers. One that lures them in, expands their imaginations, and maybe even nudges them to become writers one day. Cheers to great books!
