This Book describes Louis Nowra's world wide acclaimed plays,¿The Golden Age", ¿Radiance" and ¿Cosi". These overtly political plays have put Louis Nowra at the forefront of the Australian Theatre as well as film and television industry. The book explores how through these plays the playwright significantly addresses some major issues in contemporary Australia to examine the ongoing impacts and legacies of colonialism, and the subsequent thrust towards a monolithic national culture through the conscious and unconscious repression of different voices and histories and through promotion of unequal relations of power. The book focuses on the issues of contemporary relevance like those of aboriginal dispossession, class inequalities,gender disparity, and reconstitution of national culture and identity.
