A novel series of thiazolidinones were synthesized and characterized using different spectral analytical techniques. The derivatives synthesized were tested for their antibacterial activity against a broad spectrum of bacterial strains. Most of the derivatives were found to exhibit moderate activity as compared to the standard drugs ampicillin, gentamycin and tetracyclin. Compound 5d was found to exhibit much better antibacterial property among the different derivatvies synthesized.
