Biografische Anmerkung

Nowadays, there is a higher demand on the market of high strength material which will be more sustainable for the environment and can be used effectively as a structural material, where timber is one of the best suitable option to pursue the requirements of green technology that have been applied to our life. Timber beams in factory or in existing structure that have been built, but now carrying higher loads than design, or needs repairing needs to be strengthened which will give equivalent load carrying capacity similar to beams with bigger size. The strengthening with only CFRP plate bonding is more effective with gave a maximum 64% load capacity increment, followed by NSM and hybrid. The analysis should help shed some light on structural repairing using composite materials and should be specially useful to the professionals in structural engineering and researchers working on structural maintenance and repairing.

A K M Kawsher Alam was born on November 10, 1989. He is son of A K M Khorshed Alam and Shaheda pervin. He completed graduation in Civil Engineering, has immense knowledge in structural engineering. His main focus of research is to increase the structural capacity of an existing structure using fiber, currently enrolled in Osaka University, Japan.
