Biografische Anmerkung

Mungbean (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) is an important pulse crop and play very important role in the supply of the protein to under nourished vegetarian population of the country. It suffers from a number disease. Among these, Cercospora canescens Ellis & Martin is the most wide spread and destructive disease in India. It causes about 47 per cent yield loss annually. The management of cercospora leaf spot disease of mungbean was done earlier mostly through fungicides to minimizing the yield losses. But fungicides caused many problems in our eco-system. Despite some progress made towards development of Integrated Disease Management. There is a need to exploitation some other alternative tools viz., use of plant extracts and inter-cropping in disease management. This book is very important for the teaching and research in the field of agricultural and biological science. This publication deals mainly with different aspects like isolation, varietal screening for resistant sources, in vitro evaluation of plant extracts and chemicals and integrated disease management of cercospora leaf spot of mungbean.
