Benzoxazole is an essential building block in organic synthesis which shows various biological activities. A number of methods have been reported for the synthesis of benzoxazole derivatives including the condensation reaction of carboxylic acids, esters, acid chlorides, amides, and aldehydes with o-substituted amino aromatic derivatives. Synthesis of benzoxazole derivatives also synthesised from Carbon disulfide & xanthate compounds, isothiocynate, cyanide, Schiff base and microwave assisted methods.
Manoj N. Bhoi obtained his M.Sc. degree in organic chemistry in 2012 from the Gujarat University, Ahmedabad (India). Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr. Hitesh D. Patel at the Chemistry Department of the Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. His research focuses on multicomponent reactions and asymmetric synthesis.
