A paradigm shift from pure functional needs to the cosmetic requirements led to the popularization of precision attachments, one of which was first introduced by Herman ES Chayes in 1906 .They are connecting dots between the removable and fixed prosthesis as they inculcate features of both. These internal attachments combine the functions of aesthetics, retention, support, stability and stress distribution elevating the standards of partial dentistry.
