Dr. Santosh Kumar Chaturvedi, MD, FRCPE (Edinburgh, UK), FRCPsych (UK), is a Senior Professor of Psychiatry and former Dean of Behavioural Sciences at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore, India. He is Head of the Department of Mental Health Education and has been the Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychiatry Rehabilitation Services in the past. Dr. Chaturvedi is an Honorary Member of the World Psychiatric Association and member of many international and national societies and associations. His main areas of research and work have been consultation liaison psychiatry, chronic pain and somatization, neuropsychiatry, quality of life research, psycho-oncology and palliative care, and cultural psychiatry. He has received national awards by the Indian Council of Medical Research on three occasions and awards by the Indian Psychiatric Society - DLN MurthyRao Oration and Tilak Venkoba Rao Oration - and Poona Psychiatric Association on many occasions. He is the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Mental Health, published by Springer Nature. He has numerous publications in various international and national journals.
