Biografische Anmerkung

Cape Safety, Inc. - Change of Climate, No. 5 in the Danger Dogs Series, takes us from land mine detection in Ukraine to refloating the Ever Forward in Baltimore, Maryland, from underground aquifers in California to entertainment submarines engaged in hostage exchanges, from preserving a historic Blue Riband contender; to choosing between lobsters or blue whales in Maine; the safety, health, and environmental specialists of Cape Safety, Inc., and now its West Coast branch, Cliff Safety, Inc., solve more, urgent and emerging world problems, and expand their footprint from coast to coast, while the climate clock ticks down.

Richard Hughes closed his 24-seat safety training center on Cape Cod to become a retired student of modern worldwide shipping operations. He graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a B.S. in Marine Transportation, then obtained a Masters Degree in Business from Lesley University. While at MMA, he sailed on the Bay State, the CV Lightning, and the TS Mobil Lube.

His books include the Cape Safety, Inc. - Danger Dogs Series--a collection of five novels detailing the exciting lives of a top-notch safety consulting firm based out of Woods Hole, Massachusetts.

He is also the author of the non-fiction Deep Sea Decisions, an exposé on myriad reasons why ships go down.

He and his wife have written seven screenplays entitled Cape Car Blues (soon to be out as a novel), Freeport Fred's Valiant Summer, Golf Cart Ranger, Plimsoll, Training Ship, What We Can't Know, and Get Together. He is also the co-author, along with his wife Lavinia, of two novels entitled Newtucket Island and Training Ship.

He lives and writes in the seaside village of Waquoit, MA, with his wife Lavinia M. Hughes.
