The author of Poirot's Curse again shows the beauty and challenges of living with a disability -- in this case, Cinderella being socially awkward... offending others without intending to, and deal with people who assume the worst about her, namely because she's socially awkward:
"Did you sleep well?" I find myself asking, trying to make a conversation. "You sound tired." I remark.
"Well," Cinderella chuckles. "At least you didn't say that I look tired. That would've sucked." She laughs.
I nod, not sure what to say.
"I have insomnia." Cinderella says. I must've fallen asleep around 5 and had to be up at 6:30."
"You look relaxed." Cinderella points out. I know it sounds weird, but when you have insomnia, you wonder how others fall asleep so easily." She again touches my shoulder lightly.
I stop walking and lean against the wall. There is plenty of time before the session starts, so why rush.
"Are you lonely? Insomnia is strongly associated with loneliness." I elaborate.
