Biografische Anmerkung

This short book contains a few pieces that I have written during the past 20 years which I have not previously published. I recognize that they will be of limited interest to most people. However, I hope that a few readers might find them interesting and maybe even discover a thought or two which might aid in shaping their own thinking. I do not delude myself into thinking that there is anything profound about the observations recounted herein but I am hopeful that the fact that I have lived 83 years during times that have transformed society may earn me some credibility. In any event, it was fun for me to write these recollections at the time I wrote them and that pleasure was rekindled when I compiled the pieces for this book.I titled the book "Ramblings" because the pieces are random and largely unrelated resulting from a range of disparate thoughts over an extended period of time. I hope that one or more of these ramblings will pique the interest of a few readers.
