A seahorse named Trumpet tells the story of how she became friends with Beauregard, a big, tough, giant sea bass.
Trumpet finds Beauregard hiding that he is crying. She tells him that "Everybody cries sometimes. It doesn't mean that you're not tough." Then, through bravery and strength, Trumpet fixes what was making Beauregard cry. He is eternally grateful and promises not to eat any fish who are Trumpet's friend. This makes Trumpet the most popular seahorse in all of The Great Kelp Forest.
